Smartphones and tablets to learn

In the teaching of a subject like mathematics and in this case, a measurement that is our focus, the implementation of different resources is essential. For this reason, throughout the different post, I have shared with you different resources as the manipulatives and the ICT resources.

Smartphones and tablets are a good resource to implement interesting activities and games in class. In the different stores, you can find a huge variety of interesting resources. Some examples that could be interesting to use at schools are the followings.

- Arloon Geometry is an application available for Android and IOS. It allows to see objects into three dimensions and work with the different faces in two dimensions. Besides, it can be used to apply formulas and calculate the volume of the shapes. Also, it is interesting that it proposes a search of the treasure in which students get trails with the shapes. It has been designed for the third cycle.

Probability for kids is an application available for iOS and Android. It allows to learn and play with the students' knowledge of probability. It is designed for young children up to eight years old. I have to say that it is very colourful and beautiful which is an advantage to engage children. I think it is a different and interesting way of introducing and reinforcing the concepts of certain, more likely, chance, impossible with students. It gives explanations and then proposes activities.

AR Ruler is available for Android and iOS. it has been designed to measure the length, area and volume of real objects. It can be used by all ages of children and in my opinion, it allows to implement different activities in which they can relate their knowledge with real-life objects and enjoy.
